Liquid Gold for Your Skin
Stimulate collagen with your body's natural healing process.
Renewal In The Most Natural Way
Many people want to rejuvenate the skin on their face for a more youthful look, but are intimidated by the idea of invasive procedures or synthetic injectable fillers.
PRF utilizes your body’s natural healing compounds to smooth imperfections and improve complexion.
What Is
Platelet
Rich
Fibrin?
PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, is the next generation treatment of platelet concentrate. PRF is a fibrin matrix composed of platelet cytokines, growth factors and cells used to help promote skin rejuvenation and wound healing. PRF is derived from your own blood making it completely natural.
How Does PRF Work?
During your visit we will draw blood from your arm which makes up all of the amazing benefits when injected back into the treatment area.
Your blood is made up of liquid and solids. The liquid part, called plasma, is made of water, salts, and protein. The solid part of your blood contains red blood cells, white blood cells, growth factors and platelets.
Through spinning in our centrifuge, blood is separated into serum, fibrin, white blood cells/platelets and red blood cells. Platelets are fragments of white blood cells that aid in clotting and release growth factors. Fibrin is the first healing matrix the body forms after an injury to protect the wound and to create a bed in which blood vessels can form.
The serum on top (fibrin, white blood cells and platelets) is then removed from the drawn blood sample and used as a potent regenerative material called PRF. The serum is used to hydrate the area and the red blood cells are discarded. Signaling proteins in circulating blood are attracted to the fibrin. Thus creating natural signals in your body to go to the injection spot and create thicker collagen and rejuvenate the skin from within.
How Do We Use PRF At
Vybrance MedAesthetics?
The prepared PRF is immediately ready for injection into the face to fill facial folds and wrinkles, to plump the hollows or dark circles under the eyes, and to improve skin tone and texture when used in addition to SkinPen Microneedling or VIVACE.
Are You A Good
Candidate For PRF?
PRF is extracted from the patient’s own blood – making the treatment 100% natural and extremely safe. There is no risk of allergic reaction and very little risk of infection or other complications.
PRF treatment can be a great solution for you if you’re in generally good health and have a desire to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, skin laxity, and other common cosmetic concerns associated with the aging process. We’ll go over all the details of PRF at your consultation and help you determine if it’s the right treatment to meet your aesthetic goals.
The Pre-Care
-
Hydration is extremely important to make the most quality PRF. We recommended drinking a lot of water and take a quality multivitamin for one week prior to your appointment.
-
Avoid taking any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, aspirin or naproxen for at least seven days prior to the procedure. These medications can thin the blood and increase the risk of bleeding and bruising during the injection process.
-
Avoid consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to the injection. Alcohol can cause dehydration, which can lead to increased pain and discomfort during and after the procedure.
-
Avoid engaging in physical activity that could cause strain or stress on the area that will be injected with PRF. This includes strenuous exercise or activities such as running or lifting heavy weights.
-
Other pre-care instructions will be given by your provider if you are combining other treatments with PRF.
The Post-Care
-
You may experience bruising, redness, itching, swelling, and/or soreness that may last from 2-5 days following your treatment. It is normal to feel a tingling sensation while the cells are being activated.
-
Ice or cold compresses can be gently applied to reduce swelling if required.
-
You should avoid NSAIDS such as aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, and other anti-inflammatory medications for 3 days after your procedure.
-
You should try to avoid alcohol, caffeine, and smoking for 3 days after treatment as well.
-
Avoid blood thinning supplements including Ginko, Fish oil, etc.
-
Avoid vigorous exercise, sun, and heat exposure for at least 2 days after your treatment.
-
Continue increased water intake the first week after your treatment.
-
Other post-care instructions will be given by your provider if you are combining other treatments with PRF.
